Nestled in the heart of Katong, Baba Chews is housed within the former Joo Chiat Police Station, a heritage landmark that has been part of the neighbourhood since 1928.
Our name is a nod to the community we call home. “Baba” is a term traditionally used for Peranakan men, while “Chews” pays tribute to Mr Chew Joo Chiat, whose contributions helped shape the neighbourhood that bears his name today.
Inspired by Katong’s rich Peranakan heritage and colourful character, Baba Chews brings familiar Asian flavours into the present through a modern dining experience rooted in the neighbourhood.
